Crowe's role as Dr Watson is denied
Russell Crowe's appearance as Dr Watson in Guy Ritchie's film has been denied by the director himself, saying he has no one lined up.Speaking at the premiere of his film RocknRolla last night the director said he does not have anyone lined up for the role, adding the Crowe rumours are "news to me", Empire reports. He told the magazine: "I don't have a Watson. Somebody just told me that I have Russell Crowe lined up but thats news to me." Ritchie has already lined up Robert Downey Jr to play the part of Sherlock Holmes in the movie, which is set to start filming in a month's time. Downey's wife Susan told the publication the star has been practicing his sound and look for the role, adding he is "pretty excited" and "raring to get going". In the pipeline there is also a comedy film based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books, which will star Sasha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell. Titles related to this articleRelated/similar articles
